Who they were

Lindalva Justo de Oliveira was born on 20 October 1953 at Sítio Malhada da Areia, in a very poor area of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, daughter of a farmer.

A Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, she was stabbed to death by a man obsessed with her because she refused his advances.

The miracles

As a martyr, beatified without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

A Daughter of Charity who died rather than be unfaithful to her consecration.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
