Liberato da Loro
Feast: 6 September (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Pope Pius IX approved the veneration of Liberatus in 1868, but Butler says his story is very obscure. He is said to have come from the noble Brunforte family, to have joined the Franciscans and lived as a contemplative hermit, and to have been linked with Bd Humilis and Bd Pacificus in a move towards a stricter observance.
Attempts to identify him with an unnamed friar of Soffiano in the Fioretti who had a vision of our Lady are, Butler notes, not free from difficulty.
The miracles
The source does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.
