Laudomar
Feast: 19 January (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
St. Lomer, (Laudomarus or Launomarus), abbot, in his boyhood kept his father’s sheep, at the same time pursuing studies under the direction of a certain priest. He was ordained a priest and made a canon of the church of Chartres. After some years he retired into a neighboring forest to lead the life of a hermit; but when he found himself surrounded by a number of eager disciples, he built the monastery of Corbion (St. Laumer or Moutier-au-Perche) about 575. Far famed for his spirit of prayer and the gift of miracles, he entered through the gates of eternity in 593 at Chartres, in the house of the bishop.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
A Benedictine Martyrology (1922) remembers him on 19 January.
