Who they were

Commemoration of Saints Donatian, Praesidius, Mansuetus, Germanus and Fusculus, bishops in Africa, who, during the persecution of the Vandals, by order of the Arian king Huneric, were horribly beaten for having confessed the Catholic truth and sent into exile. With them is also commemorated Laetus, bishop of Nepta in present-day Tunisia, a courageous man of great learning, who after a long period of squalid imprisonment died burned at the stake.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 6 September as a bishop of Nepta who, after long imprisonment under the Vandals, died burned at the stake.
