Who they were

At Seville in Andalusia in Spain, Saints Justa and Rufina, virgins, who, arrested by the governor Diogenianus and subjected to cruel torments, suffered prison, starvation and other tortures: Justa died in prison, while Rufina, for having confessed her faith in the Lord, had her neck broken.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 17 July as a virgin of Seville who was tortured with her sister Rufina and died in prison.
