Who they were

Julián Navío Colado was one of five Franciscan priests of the Province of Castilla, killed with their guardian Fray Víctor Chumillas Fernández and fourteen theology students of their community during the religious persecution in Spain. He was shot with the others at Boca de Balondillo, near Fuente del Fresno (Ciudad Real), on 16 August 1936.

He was beatified with his twenty companions on 28 October 2007, by José Saraiva Martins acting as the delegate of Pope Benedict XVI. The group's feast is kept on 16 August, especially in the Franciscan Province of Castilla.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

One of five Franciscan priests shot with fifteen companions at Boca de Balondillo on 16 August 1936; beatified 28 October 2007.

The cause

Julián Navío Colado has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Franciscans: Blessed Julian Navio Colado and his companions.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
