Juan Barat Barberán was a priest, born at Arjona in 1878 and ordained on 21 December 1901, who was assistant parish priest at Arjona and was killed on 1 September 1936. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
