Jouin
Who they were
Jouin was a 4th-century hermit of Poitou, then the head of a monastic community which became the monastery of Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes, one of the oldest in France. He is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church and is honoured locally on 1 June, or together with the other holy monks and hermits of Poitou on 13 November.
