Who they were

Josefa Monrabal was a Sister of St Joseph of Girona and a nurse, working in hospital wards and in the homes of the sick.

Despite threats she stayed bravely at her post to care for the sick, trusting in God, and was killed with two of her sisters in the summer of 1936.

The miracles

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

A nursing sister who stayed with the sick and was killed for it.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
