José Tarrats Comaposada
Jesuit brother, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
The decree on martyrdom records that he was born at Manresa in 1878, took his last vows in 1910 as a temporal coadjutor brother and was the carer of the sick in his community. He was killed on 28 September 1936; the Roman Martyrology commemorates him at Valencia as a religious of the Society of Jesus and martyr. He was beatified on 11 March 2001 by Pope John Paul II.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology says that in that persecution he was received by Christ into glory.
The cause
The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
