Who they were

José María Rojas Lobo was born at Seville on 29 September 1910 and was unmarried. He was arrested at Marchena on 20 July 1936, wounded on 21 July and died on 25 July. Pope Francis beatified him on 18 November 2023.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

He was arrested at Marchena, wounded the next day, and died of his wounds on 25 July 1936.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
