Who they were

José María Polo Rejón was born at Monachil on 28 February 1890 and ordained priest on 21 December 1918; he was seized and killed on 6 August 1936 at Arenas del Rey. He was beatified on 26 February 2022 by Pope Francis among Cayetano Giménez Martín and fifteen companions.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The decree on martyrdom records that he was put to death in hatred of the faith during the persecution of the Church in Spain.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
