Who they were

José del Amo del Amo was born at Pumarejo de Tera near Zamora on 12 June 1916; he wished to become a priest but found study difficult and asked to profess as a cooperator brother, making his temporary vows in 1934, and at the time of the persecution he was just twenty, the youngest of the group.

Pope Francis beatified him on 6 May 2017 among the Spanish martyrs of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints counts him among the Spanish martyrs of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus beatified on 6 May 2017.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
