Who they were

Saint George of Lodève was a bishop from the Rouergue, near Rodez, who was first a monk at the monastery of Sainte-Foy de Conques. After the Normans destroyed that monastery he was invited by the Count of Toulouse and founded the monastery of Vabres, which he governed well. He became bishop of Lodève in 880, received gifts from King Charles the Bald, and seems to have died around 884.
