Who they were

Together with him is commemorated Saint John, hermit, who was for about thirty years the companion of Saint Simeon in the holy pilgrimage and in the hermitage near Lake Mareotis in Egypt.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 21 July as the hermit who was for about thirty years the companion of Saint Simeon near Lake Mareotis in Egypt.
