Who they were

In London in England, the Blessed martyrs Thomas Hemerford, James Fenn, John Nutter, John Munden and George Haydock, priests, who, because Queen Elizabeth I had claimed for herself supremacy in spiritual matters, were condemned to death for having kept faith with the Church of Rome and at Tyburn were disembowelled while still alive.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 12 February as a priest condemned to death under Elizabeth I for keeping faith with the Church of Rome and disembowelled alive at Tyburn.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
