Who they were

At Reading in England, the blessed martyrs Hugh Faringdon or Cook, abbot of the Order of Saint Benedict, John Eynon and John Rugg, priests, who, accused of treason for having stubbornly opposed King Henry VIII's claims to primacy in the Church, died hanged and disembowelled with the sword in front of the monastery.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 15 November as a priest hanged and disembowelled before the monastery at Reading for opposing King Henry VIII's claims to primacy in the Church.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
