Who they were

Johann Nepomuk von Tschiderer, fifth of seven children of the Tyrol's receiver-general, was born at Bolzano on 15 April 1777 and ordained there on 27 July 1800. He was a curate, a professor of theology at Trent, parish priest of Merano from 1819 and pro-vicar for the German-speaking part of the diocese.

As Bishop of Trent he governed with evangelical ardour and humanity, and in time of disaster gave wonderful witness of love for his flock.

The miracles

The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

A bishop of faith and humanity who stood by his people in time of disaster.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
