Who they were

Joaquín Balcells Bosch was a diocesan priest of the Tarragona region, born at Espluga Calva near Tarragona on 16 September 1900, and was put to death on 13 November 1936 at the place the decree names in Latin as Fons Calidus. He was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis with Manuel Borrás Ferré, auxiliary bishop of Tarragona, and their companions.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

A diocesan priest put to death in the persecution in Spain.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
