João Luiz Pozzobon was a permanent deacon and father of a family; he was born in the district of Cachoeira, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on 12 December 1904 and died at Santa Maria, Brazil, on 27 June 1985. Pope Leo XIV recognised his heroic virtue on 20 June 2025.
