Who they were

Jesús Moreno Ruiz was born at Osorno la Mayor near Palencia on 13 January 1915 and entered the Pequeña Obra in 1927 at the age of twelve, choosing to live as a cooperator brother; a lively and cheerful young man, he looked after the community kitchen, and at the time of the persecution he had made only temporary vows.

Pope Francis beatified him on 6 May 2017 among the Spanish martyrs of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints counts him among the Spanish martyrs of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus beatified on 6 May 2017.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
