Who they were
St. John, bishop of Valence in France and former Cistercian abbot of Bonneval, died in the year 1145. The holiness of his life is attested by numerous miracles wrought by his intercession.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
A Benedictine Martyrology (1922) remembers him on 26 April.
