Who they were

On a galley anchored off Rochefort in France, Blessed Jean-Baptiste Vernoy de Montjournal, priest and martyr, who, a canon of Moulins, during the French Revolution, condemned for his priesthood to confinement on the ships, died struck down by illness.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 1 June as a canon of Moulins who, condemned for his priesthood during the French Revolution, died of illness on a galley off Rochefort.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
