Jason Roman
Feast: 3 December (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
The Roman Martyrology names Jason as a son of Claudius the tribune and his wife Hilaria, put to death with his brother Maurus and seventy soldiers under the emperor Numerian. Their mother was later arrested while praying at her sons' tomb and died in prison.
Butler explains that these martyrs come only from the legend of SS. Chrysanthus and Daria, a casual and quite untrustworthy source, and that nothing whatever is really known of them.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
Named in the Roman Martyrology among the Roman martyrs Claudius, Hilaria and their sons.
