Who they were

At Asyut, again in Egypt, the holy martyrs Ischyrion, commander of the army, and five other soldiers, who, by order of the prefect Arrianus, under the emperor Decius, were killed for their faith in Christ by various kinds of martyrdom.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 1 June as the commander of the army at Asyut who was killed for his faith in Christ under the emperor Decius.
