Who they were

The decree on martyrdom describes him as a priest of the Order of Preachers who taught in the school of his house, born on 28 March 1905, who made temporary vows in 1921 and was ordained priest in 1930; he was one of the Servants of God of that house killed in 1936. He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

Named in the decree on martyrdom among Celestino José Alonso Villar and nine companions of the Order of Preachers killed in Spain in 1936.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
