Who they were

Iacobus Aparicio López was born at Revilla de Collazos on 24 September 1913 and made solemn profession. He had been ordained subdeacon barely two months before he was killed in 1936, and Pope Francis beatified him on 18 June 2022.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

He was put to death in 1936 in the persecution in Spain, and the Church recognised his death as martyrdom.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
