Who they were

St. Hugo, abbot of Marchiennes, a former monk of St. Martin’s at Tournai, by his edifying example wrought a marvellous change for the better in the community in which he had professed. He was chosen abbot of Marchiennes and continued to set such attractive examples of charity, zeal and benevolence that he was universally regarded as a Saint. The Lord deemed him fit for his eternal reward in 1148.

The miracles

The source does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

A Benedictine Martyrology (1922) remembers him on 11 June.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
