Who they were

Hadewych, daughter of Hildegundis, founded with her mother the Premonstratensian convent of Meer near Büderich about 1165, and succeeded her as prioress in 1183.

She died on 14 April, about 1200. She, her mother and her brother Herman are all counted among the Blessed.

The miracles

She is honoured as Blessed by long-standing veneration; the Catholic Encyclopedia does not describe a formal cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

A foundress and prioress from a family of the Blessed.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
