The Vatican record

Who they were

Giovanni Battista Quilici (26 April 1791 – 10 June 1844) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest. He founded the Daughters of the Crucified as well as several other religious institutions. The priest originated from Livorno where he served as a parish priest for several decades in addition to his role as a caregiver for prostitutes and ill people – he distinguished himself during an 1835 cholera epidemic that claimed his sister. He had the esteem of other noted individuals including Grand Duke Leopoldo II and Juliette Colbert.

The miracles

No miracle approved yet

The Church has declared this person’s heroic virtue, which is what the title Venerable means. One approved miracle is needed before beatification.

Why that counted as sanctity

Limited information is available on this saint so far.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
