Fructuoso Pérez Márquez
Married layman of the Third Order of St Dominic, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Fructuoso Pérez Márquez was born at Almería on 9 February 1884, married and had four children, and belonged to the Third Order of St Dominic. A newspaper journalist who never hid his faith in God, he was killed on the shore called La Garrofa at Almería on 15 August 1936; Pope Francis beatified him on 18 June 2022.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

His body was given back by the sea with many others and could not be identified.
