Who they were

Francinaina Cirer Carbonell was born at Sencelles on Majorca on 1 June 1781, the last of six children of well-to-do, devout farmers. Choosing poverty over wealth, which she knew could draw her from God, she stayed unable to read or write.

Moved by divine zeal, she gave herself to apostolate and charity and founded the community of the Sisters of Charity of Majorca.

The miracles

The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

An unlettered woman of the village who chose poverty and poured herself out in charity.

The cause

Franciscana Cirer has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul: Blessed Francinaina Cirer.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
