Who they were

At Dachau near Munich in Bavaria in Germany, Blesseds Florian Stępniak, of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, and Józef Straszewski, priests and martyrs, who, at the time of the invasion of Poland during the war, died in the prison camp in a gas chamber.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 12 August as a Capuchin priest and martyr who died in a gas chamber at Dachau.

The cause

Florian Stępniak has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Capuchin Friars: Blessed Florian Stępniak.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
