Florencjusz z Populonii
Feast: 15 May (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Florentius was a bishop of Populonia in the sixth century, in the episcopal succession before Saint Cerbonius, who is documented between 546 and 575. According to the Dialogues of Pope Gregory the Great, Florentius witnessed the soul of Cerbonius being carried up to heaven by angels.
Some scholars identify him with the Saint Florentius venerated as principal patron of Campiglia Marittima, where his feast is kept on 15 May, though this identification is not universally accepted; he is not to be confused with a different Saint Florentius venerated in Corsica, whose body is said by legend to have reached Tuscany by sea in a sarcophagus.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
