Who they were

Florentius of Vienne was a bishop of Vienne in the Dauphiné. He is venerated as a saint by several Christian confessions. Nothing more is known of his life than the inscription confirming that he attended the Council of Valence in 374 as bishop of Vienne; a later legend without foundation says that he died a martyr in exile.
