Who they were

Born in the Basque Country on 16 March 1881, he was married with two daughters; after losing his wife he lived with them near the Basilica of the Miraculous Medal, and he was killed in Madrid on 12 August 1936. Pope Francis beatified him with José María Fernández Sánchez and his companions on 11 November 2017.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The decree on martyrdom counts him among the lay members of the Association of the Miraculous Medal killed for their faith.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
