Who they were

Federico (Carlos) Rubio Álvarez was a priest of the Hospitaller Order of St John of God.

He was killed with three companions at Talavera de la Reina on 25 July 1936, one of 71 Hospitaller Brothers martyred during the Spanish Civil War, who died forgiving their enemies.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

A Hospitaller priest killed in 1936, forgiving his enemies.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
