Who they were
At Ramsey in England, Saint Ethelfleda, who from childhood consecrated herself to God in the monastery founded by her father Æthelwold and, having become abbess, governed it excellently until advanced old age.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 23 October as an abbess who governed her father's foundation until old age.
