Who they were
In the territory of present-day Umbria, Saint Equitius, abbot, who, as Pope Saint Gregory the Great writes, was by his holiness the father of many monasteries and, wherever he went, opened the fountain of the Sacred Scriptures.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 August as an abbot who, as Gregory the Great writes, was father of many monasteries.
