Who they were
Eleri appears in the story of St Winifred as a holy abbot who governed a double monastery at Gwytherin in Denbighshire.
Winifred entered the nunnery there, became abbess on the death of the abbess Tenoi, and when she died was buried by St Eleri; her relics stayed at Gwytherin until 1138.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
An abbot of Gwytherin in north Wales linked with St Winifred.
