Diomedes the Younger
Feast: 28 October (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Diomedes the Younger was born at Leucopolis, in Cyprus, and lived in the 4th century, educated by the bishop Saint Triphyllius; he grew up virtuous and gifted with the power of miracles. When Cyprus was attacked by Saracen raiders, tradition says he made the sign of the cross over them and, rather than overpowering them, converted them to Christianity. He died on 28 October, the day on which he is still honoured, and a church soon rose in his memory that remains a place of pilgrimage.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
