Deocar
Who they were
St. Deocarus, first abbot of Herrieden in the diocese of Eichstaett, was at first a hermit in that place, which was still a wilderness at the time. He enjoyed the good will of Charlemagne, who built a small church for him in honor of the Blessed Virgin, and also a monastery of which Deocarus was made the first abbot. Deocarus was well versed in the Holy Scriptures and died in the odor of sanctity about 850. In 1316 the body was raised by the bishop of Eichstaett and enshrined in a more conspicuous place.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
