Daria of Venafro
Feast: 17 June (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Daria appears in the acts of the martyrs Nicander and Marcian as Nicander's wife. According to the story, she stood by him before the governor Maximus, urging him to stay faithful, and walked beside him to his execution, saying she was glad to be a martyr's wife.
Butler says these acts are not authentic history but a good example of a writer embellishing a kernel of fact. Four places claim the martyrdom, among them Venafro in Italy, where the reputed relics are venerated.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
Honoured at Venafro as the wife of the martyr Nicander.
