Who they were
Cywair, known locally as Cywer or Cowair, is a female saint associated with the church of Llangywair near Bala, Gwynedd. In the old parish there is a stone bearing a cross called 'Llech Gower', and about a quarter of a mile from the church is 'Ffynnon Gower', a well once used to bathe children suffering from rickets.
