Who they were

At Paris in France, the passion of Blessed martyrs Jean Marie du Lau d'Allemans, François-Joseph and Pierre-Louis de la Rochefoucauld, bishops, and ninety-three companions, clerics or religious, who, gathered in the convent of the Carmelites, were slaughtered for Christ out of hatred of religion for having refused to take the impious oath imposed on the clergy during the French Revolution. Among those named is Blessed Claudius Cayx-Dumas, priest.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 2 September among the martyrs slaughtered at the Carmelite convent in Paris for refusing the oath imposed on the clergy during the French Revolution.

The cause

Claudius Cayx-Dumas has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Jesuits: Blessed Claudius Cayx-Dumas.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
