Who they were

At Pisa, Blessed Chiara Gambacorti, who, left a widow while still young, at the urging of Saint Catherine of Siena founded here the first Dominican monastery of strict observance and, having forgiven the murderers of her father and her brothers, governed her sisters with prudence and charity.

The miracles

The Roman Martyrology does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 17 April as a young widow who founded the first strict-observance Dominican monastery at Pisa and forgave her family's murderers.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
