Chérémon de Nilopolis
Feast: 22 December (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Commemoration of Saints Chérémon, bishop of Nilopolis, and many other martyrs in Egypt: some, during the persecution of the emperor Decius, forced to flee and wander in the desert, were killed by wild beasts, others were worn out by hunger, cold and weakness, others finally were killed by barbarians and brigands, so that all, though by different kinds of death, were crowned with the same glorious martyrdom.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 22 December as a bishop of Nilopolis among the martyrs of Egypt under Decius.
