Who they were
Cayetano Clausellas Ballvé was a diocesan priest, born at Sabadell, Spain, on 5 August 1863, who was killed in hatred of the faith near the same town on 15 August 1936; the decree recognised his martyrdom together with that of the layman Antonio Tort Reixachs. Pope Francis recognised his martyrdom on 13 April 2024.
The Dicastery's biography says he was ordained on 3 May 1888 and for twenty years was chaplain to the home of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly at Sabadell, saying during the persecution that he would never abandon the old people in his care.
