Who they were

Cándido Catalán Lasala, a Claretian missionary, was born at Corella, Navarre, on 16 February 1916.

He was killed on 28 July 1936, aged twenty, one of the 522 martyrs of the Spanish Civil War beatified together in 2013.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

A young Claretian killed at twenty for his faith.

The cause

Cándido Catalán Lasala has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Church in Navarre: Blessed Candido Catalan Lasala.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
