Who they were

At Trier, in Gallia Belgica, today in Germany, Saint Bonosus, bishop, who, together with Saint Hilary of Poitiers, worked with care and learning so that the faith might be kept whole in Gaul.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 17 February as a bishop of Trier who worked with Saint Hilary of Poitiers to keep the faith whole in Gaul.

“After the exile in 353 of Bishop Paulinus of Trier to Phrygia an episcopal election was held in which Bonosus was elected bishop of Trier: he refused however to take up the post, perhaps because he was convinced that Paulinus was still the rightful bishop of Trier and therefore could not be replaced.” — Wikipedia
